β’ Processing takes 14 business days after all documents are received and approved
π€ Document Submission Rules
β’ Most documents must be sent directly from the issuing authority/institution to WES (please make sure to clearly mark your WES reference number on the envelope or email subject line. Failure to include the appropriate reference number may result in unmatched documents.)
β’ Institutions/authorities may submit documents to WES digitally (when possible) or by courier (please check with your institution to confirm whether they have a digital partnership with WES)

β’ Regular WES evaluations are NOT accepted by participating provinces/territories for certification purposes

Documents you need to submit yourself
Proof of Identification
- What: Government-issued ID (passport or birth certificate)
- Where to get it: Your national/local government issuing authority
- Note: Must be current and valid
- How to submit: Upload through your https://ptc.wes.org/ account
Degree Certificate
- What: Clear, legible photocopies of your degree certificate/diploma
- Where to get it: The university/institution that issued the degree
- How to submit: Upload through your https://ptc.wes.org/ account
**Documents that your institution needs to send to WES
Academic Documents
- What: Official transcripts from your university
- Where to get it: Your university
- Must be sent: Directly from the institution to WES, OR they can be sent by you but only if your institution gives you the document to send to WES in a sealed envelope. If the envelope is opened or there is no stamp or signature across the back flap, WES cannot accept the document
- Should include:

- β’ Graduation/completion dates
- How to submit: To the address at the bottom of the page
Practicum Verification
What: Official documentation of your supervised teaching practice/practicum
Where to get it: Your university or postsecondary institution (not where the practicum took place)

π **Evidence of Teaching Practicum Form** If you completed a teaching practicum as part of your education, you must have it verified using [the evidence of teaching practicum form](https://www.wes.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/PTTC-Confirmation-of-Teaching-Practicum-EN.pdf). * How to complete: Complete Part 1 of the form and send it to your university or postsecondary institution authority (not where the practicum took place). Your university or postsecondary institution (not where the practicum took place) must complete Part 2 and send directly to WES; otherwise, it will not be accepted. * When completing the application: The teaching practicum section refers to any practicum experience completed during your teacher education program. If you have completed a teaching practicum, you will need to have it verified using the Evidence of Teaching Practicum Form above. * How to submit: Your institution sends the Evidence of Teaching Practicum Form directly to WES either digitally (when possible) or by courier (to the address at the bottom of the page)
Statement of Professional Standing
What: Official document from the education authority/licensing body in the jurisdiction where you completed your teacher education program
π What Is a Statement of Professional Standing?
An official letter from a licensing body or education ministry about your teaching certification and practice. It must include:
- Teaching status
- Date(s) of certification or authorization to teach
- Date(s) of revocation or cancellation/suspension, if applicable
β’ Any entries in the Authorization to Teach section of the application will require proof of professional standing
β’ Applicants should only include information on the education or certification that gives them authorization to teach in their jurisdiction. Do not include additional exams or certifications (such as TEFL), unless they are what specifically authorizes you to teach
β’ The Authorization to Teach section is for foreign authorization to teach outside of Canada. Do not include Canadian authorization to teach in this section
Where to request it: The teaching regulatory body or ministry of education in the jurisdiction where you were trained and/or certified
Must confirm:
β’ You are authorized to teach
β’ You have not been subject to disciplinary sanctions
β’ Your teaching certificate status (if applicable)
Additional requirement: If you hold teaching certificates in other jurisdictions (even if never used or expired), you must obtain Statements of Professional Standing from those jurisdictions, as well
π Alternative Option
If your jurisdiction does not have an official Statement of Professional Standing, use the alternative confirmation of professional standing form
β’ Complete Part 1 of the form
β’ Send it to the appropriate issuing authority
β’ The authority must send the completed form directly to WES
How to complete: Complete Part 1 of the form and send it to the appropriate issuing authority. The appropriate issuing authority must complete Part 2 and send the completed form directly to WES; otherwise, it will not be accepted
How to submit: Your institution sends the statement directly to WES either digitally (when possible) or by courier (to the address at the bottom of the page)
