Credential Assessment

Pathways to Teach Canada has partnered with World Education Services (WES) Canada to evaluate the credentials of internationally educated teachers (IETs) who wish to settle in a participating Canadian province or territory.

A credential assessment is an evaluation and verification process that examines the authenticity and relevance of an individual’s academic credentials and professional experience and qualifications to determine their authenticity and validity.

WES will conduct, on behalf of Pathways to Teach Canada, a tailored assessment of your credentials and will collect and authenticate documents and validate information and documentation related to the certification process.

WES will collect:
● proof of identification;
● a Statement of Professional Standing for each certificate you hold;
● any additional degrees you may have;
● your professional information, such as certification/authorization to teach, teaching experience; and
● verification of your practicum.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
DO NOT CONTACT WES DIRECTLY to request a regular course-by-course evaluation. Such an evaluation will NOT be accepted for certification purposes by the participating provincial or territorial regulatory bodies for the teaching profession.
